Offers investigations focusing
on conceptual physics. Topics
include kinematics, projectile
motion, refraction of light,
and Newton’s law of cooling
and thermodynamics.
This series provides students with a concise introduction to college physics. It focuses on conceptual physics through hands-on investigations of topics including kinematics, projectile motion, refraction of light, Newton’s law of cooling and thermodynamics, and others. Each investigation has learning outcomes that students must master, such as describe the effect of mass on centripetal force; apply Snell’s law and calculate the refractive index of water; and graph and analyze temperature and time data for a cooling object with respect to the laws of thermodynamics. All Physics Series kits include a Physics Central Materials Module containing safety supplies and nonperishable laboratory supplies for use in multiple investigations
